| The following is a statement
of structure, ownership, purposes and policies of Dixie Professional Stewards,
located in Summerdale, Alabama.
Dixie Professional Stewards
is a contracting business wholly owned by Norman B. Crook, d/b/a Dixie
Professional Stewards. It is fully licensed with both federal and
Alabama state tax numbers. All required federal and state tax forms
are submitted on a timely fashion both to state and federal agencies and
appropriate forms are mailed to qualifying sub-contracting stewards.
DPS is fully insured by the Hartford group.
There are no membership
nor associational dues, requirements nor limitations. The only requirement
being to comply with the ethical standards set forth on information sheets
provided to would-be stewards. Those who chose to work under the
direction of DPS are considered independent contractors who opt to work
from time to time at shows contracted by DPS.
All stewards are considered
independent and have the option to steward for any or all clubs, stewarding
associations, or other entities at their own discretion with no threat
of penalty or prejudice.
For both security and personal
protection-as well as ethical issues- any or all names of stewards and
information about stewards shall not be sold, given, loaned nor dispensed
to any neither group nor individual under any circumstances. Neither
the names of stewards nor information concerning stewards will be divulged
without express permission of said person.
It is the intention - via
contract with the various kennel clubs - to provide day parking for those
folk contracting to steward who are not exhibiting. Further- DPS
makes every effort that each and every steward be provided both time and
resources for lunch. It is also the intention to assure any or all
contracting stewards be given ample time to show his/her own animals at
a given show.
Our contract with kennel
clubs specifically spells out no steward shall work with or for any judge
to whom he/she might exhibit in any given cluster. Similarly, no
judge may work for DPS in any cluster or group of shows prior to his/her
judging assignment.
DPS will attempt to help
clubs and/or other stewarding organizations when short a few stewards at
a show where DPS does not hold the contract. Those folk will be paid
at the normal DPS scale set out below and will be given ample time to show
their own dogs if they so desire.
The base pay scale at this
writing is:
$55 per day to those
stewards exhibiting;
$60 per day to those
stewards NOT exhibiting. |
